Music Just a few more days! This has been a school year enriched by music. A November Veterans Day program… the Christmas program… a spring program with Stories and Songs of Jesus… countless recorder pieces and Recorder Karate belts… band concerts… singing at Mass... and singing, singing, everywhere. Beautiful!
Here is a surprise announcement. (The Kala Company (
https://kalabrand.com/) has awarded our school a set of 30 Kala ukuleles! Most of our students haven’t seen them yet, but the instruments will be revealed very soon. This will provide an excellent option for learning music that our students might otherwise not have had. Thank you, Kala!
Don’t forget to make music an important part of your summer! Check out the summer schedule at Blossom Music Center (
https://www.clevelandorchestra.com/tickets/2018-blossom-schedule/ ) and plan a picnic for Star Wars night – “Under 18s Free” lawn passes are available!
Faith Corner Your life is going perfectly, right? Everything in your family life, work, and personal dreams is working out great, and the country is totally going in the right direction? No, you say, some things are okay and others aren’t good, but that’s life, right?
And you’re talking to God about it, yes?
Whether you pray to God as Father, a ruler, a potter forming us as clay, as loving Spirit, or one of an infinite number of other images, know that God is more than interested in all aspects of your life. Prayer is not magic – it does not guarantee that everything we want will fall into place. Prayer acknowledges that we depend on God, and we tell God we are trying to rest in God’s care. Prayer doesn’t change God – it changes us! And whether your prayer takes you to Sunday Mass or to quiet Bible reading or to a family prayer before meals, beyond a doubt your children take notice. How will you and your children grow in prayer this summer?
